Christa Kirk

A Highly Experienced and Knowledgeable Lawyer

A Zealous Defendant of the Accused

Christa Kirk, our founder, had often observed defendants being underrepresented in court when she was still working as a prosecutor. When this happens, injustice occurs. In 2013, after more than nine years of prosecuting, she decided to move into private practice and established THE KIRK LAW FIRM, P.C.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states, “Everyone charged with a penal offense has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty.” Attorney Kirk and our entire team will use our vast experience to defend you and argue on your behalf. We will work hard and fight for you, without fear of litigating in a courtroom.

Before establishing THE KIRK LAW FIRM, P.C. in Lawrenceville, GA, our founder was able to gain knowledge and experience by working in the public sector. Having prosecuted and reviewed thousands of cases, she has developed a keen sense of how jurors, prosecutors, and judges respond to legal and factual arguments. She has successfully tried cases before juries and has been featured on nationally televised programs.

Assistant District Attorney (ADA)

Attorney Kirk began her career as a lawyer in the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office. As an ADA, she prosecuted cases at all court levels, including the Magistrate, Juvenile, and Superior Courts. Her years of working in the DA’s office served as her training ground for practicing legal defense. Gaining experience in prosecution has given her a competitive edge in court trials, as she can infer how prosecutors think when handling a case.

Senior Assistant District Attorney

During her tenure at the DA’s Office, Attorney Kirk served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney. As part of her responsibilities, she supervised other ADAs as well as trained prosecutors and police officers on all aspects of criminal law and trial techniques. She knows the importance of having everyone informed about the different legal procedures. Apart from imparting knowledge, she also inspired them to have a compassionate heart for those who are facing injustice.

Defense Attorney

Since leaving the DA’s Office, Attorney Kirk has handled criminal cases as a defense attorney with successful results. She had proved that a client was wrongfully convicted and had him released from prison. In addition, she has had multiple cases dismissed by proving those as lacking sufficient evidence. She knows what prosecutors are looking for and what evidence they will use at trial. By using this skill, she can obtain reductions and have a high success rate in court.

Family Lawyer

Attorney Kirk also practices family law, representing clients in divorce, legitimation, paternity, and custody cases. Ever since she started her career in this field, she has successfully obtained custody for deserving mothers and fathers. She also handles child support reductions and increases, where warranted. If you need help with legal matters concerning your family, she is the right person to turn to. You can count on her to fight for you in court and give you the emotional support you need.

Appellate Court Representative

She represented the State of Georgia at the appellate level, both in the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She has handled every kind of criminal case, from simple misdemeanor thefts to felony aggravated assault, drug possession, and murder. Attorney Kirk uses her experience in the appellate court for her clients’ best interests. If the outcome of the trial is not favorable for the defense, she is willing to go the extra mile and file an appeal. She is committed to fighting for her clients until the end.

Attorney Kirk is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court, Northern District. She is constantly working and keeping in touch with other lawyers to continuously sharpen her skills and improve herself. Being affiliated with reputable organizations and institutions gives her an opportunity to improve herself not just professionally, but in terms of character as well.
